Immigration Services in Nice, France
I practise immigration and nationality law from my office in Nice. For now, I don't take asylum applications before the OFPRA or appeals before the CNDA; I can put you in touch with a colleague who does this work full time. I do handle Dublin procedures and temporary protection.
A first consultation
Tell me where things stand and bring what you have: letters, permits, the refusal if there is one. I'll explain which procedure fits, what it will ask of you and where it tends to go wrong. If you don't need a lawyer for it, I'll tell you.
If you decide to go ahead, I prepare the file, submit it and follow it through. Some files take weeks or months, others much longer. I'll help you see when a delay is normal and when it's time to act.
Appointments are at my office in Nice or by video call.

Talent card and work authorisation
Since the law of 26 January 2024, the former passeport talent is called the carte de séjour pluriannuelle portant la mention « talent » (multi-year talent residence card). It covers several profiles: qualified employees, researchers, business founders, investors, artists. It allows you to work in the activity it was issued for. For other hires, the employer applies online for a work authorisation. I act for the employee and for the employer.
Is this your situation?
- A company on the Côte d'Azur wants to hire you and you live outside France.
- You are an employer and want to hire someone from outside the European Union.
- You are finishing a master's degree in France and have a job offer, or are looking for one.
- You want to start a business or invest in France.
What can go wrong
- The salary offered is just under the threshold. The talent card is refused; another route sometimes exists. I check before the contract is signed, not after.
- The student lets their permit expire before filing the change of status. They are left without a permit. The file is prepared several months before the course ends.
- The employer lets the work start before the authorisation. That is an offence for the employer, and a risk to the employee's permit.
- The refusal comes with an OQTF (order to leave France). The deadline is short and printed on the decision: challenging an OQTF in Nice.
Common questions
- What is the passeport talent called now?
- Since the law of 26 January 2024, it is the carte de séjour pluriannuelle portant la mention « talent », followed by the profile, for example « talent-salarié qualifié ». The family card keeps the name « passeport talent (famille) ».
- Can my family come with me?
- Yes. Your spouse receives a « passeport talent (famille) » card, without going through family reunification. It allows them to work. Your children under 18 do not need a residence permit.
- How long does the talent card last?
- Up to four years, depending on the contract or the project. It is then renewed if the conditions are still met.
